PSALMS 2

(See Isaiah 42)

The background is in David's conquest of Jerusalem over the Jebusites, and overthrow of all his enemies after their attempt to depose him and destroy his Kingdom at birth (2Sam.5, Acts 4,27) and is a fulfilling of the terms of 2 Sam.7.12, 14,-16, God's promises to David.

Pslm 1 and 2 go together: show the beginning and the ending, the Alpha and Omega.

1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

This is a rebellion and rejection, at the outset, of Gentile powers against Christ's righteous rule, announced from Jerusalem, (after the march of the Rainbowed Angel, the Olivet earthquake, battles of Bozrah and Armageddon, and final liberation and conquest of Jerusalem) (Rev. 14.6-1 I, 18- 20).

Rage - Hb rageshu "the gnashing of teeth, and tumultuously rushing together of those indignant and cruel people" (Adam Clark) (Palm 118.10-14, Is.2.19-22, Rev.5.I0). They will tremble.

It is a global challenge by all the corrupt and degenerate nations and institutions who realise the game is up, but are unwilling to surrender (imagine a vain thing with their depraved carnal minds), in particular of the goat nations, the Man of Sin Antichrist system, that sitteth upon the 7 hills (papal system), having polluted and defiled the earth, claiming to be Christ's vicar on earth, and intoxicating the nations with the wine of her fornication (Rev.17.1-6).

The Germanic Beast will support the Harlot and the 10 horns give power to the Beast for one hour, rising up against Christ and the saints (Rev.17.l2-14, Rev.18, Rev. 19), to be cast into "the lake of fire" and smoked out everywhere, till every sceric of Catholicism is removed from the earth (takes 40 years of war) (Hbk 3.8-19, Zech 14.6-9,12-21).

This will be a terrible time for the nations (Dan, 12. 10, Jer. 25.33), slaughter of billions across the earth.*

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahweh, and against his anointed, saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

Adam Clark - "the unwillingness of rebellious nature to submit to the obligations of divine laws, which cross the interests and lay a restraint on the desires of men. Corrupt affections are the most inveterate enemies of Christ, and their language is, We will not have this man to reign over us."

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: Yahweh shall have them in derision.

Yahweh's contempt and righteous anger...Cheyne The Thunder God, wild raging and scornful laughter from the heavens with thunder's roll and lightning flashes (Rev 10.3; the seven thunders roar (Rev.l0.3, Pslm.29).*

6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

Foreshadowed in David bringing the Ark up to Zion (Pslm. 68.17 ,24-31, Pslm 132.13-18). This a long established decree which nothing can overturn, the true day of Christ's begettal, when he is crowned in Mt Zion (Pslm.47, 48, Lk.l.32). Cheyne - a society of superhuman beings.*

THE KINGSHIP OF CHRIST.

It is true Christ was rejected in his claims as king of Israel; but it is very far from being true that he "laid aside his title" in consequence of that rejection. The very opposite of this is indicated in the language of the 2nd Psalm...

When God (by Jesus,) has spoken in wrath, and vexed in his displeasure, the adversaries of Jesus, which he has not done yet in the way he predicted -(Isaiah lxiii, 3-6; Zeph. i ii, 8; Joel iii, 2; Zech. xiv, 16; Rev. xix, 16.) Jesus will be installed, in the throne of David, as king of Israel, and ruler of the whole earth. -(Is, xxiv, 23; Jer. xxiii, 25; Micah iv, 2-8 ; v, 2-4; Zech. xiv, 9.)

At the same time, it is perfectly true that "God's salvation," by Christ's rejection, "has received a wider circle (than Israel,) viz., the whole earth;" Yet this was no accident; it was part of the plan fore-ordained and made known to the prophets, that Christ should become the salvation of Yahweh to the ends of the earth. In fact this was the principal feature of the promise to Abraham, that in his seed all families of the earth should be blessed.

But are we to say that because Christ's operations are to bear upon the whole earth, therefore they are not to have their centre in the Holy Land? that because he is to rule all nations, therefore he won't be king of the Jews? that because the Gentiles are admitted to the privilege of Israel's commonwealth, therefore Israel's commonwealth is abolished? By no means. No one truth destroys another. We must find a place for every feature.

You are right in saying that Jesus is not king of "the church." Christ's brethren are his associates, not his subjects; his particular friends, not his servile attendants.

7 I will declare the decree: Yahweh hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. Acts 13: 33

According, therefore, to the analogy of nature, the second stage in the process of raising, answers to the interval between the begettal, or conception, in the dust of sheol, and the quickening after judgment. This interval is perceptible in the case of the last Adam. He was

begotten in the tomb, in fulfilment of the second Psalm, " this day have I begotten thee " (Acts xiii. 33). But, when Mary afterwards saw him in the garden, he had not been quickened ; for he told her then not to touch him, because He had not yet ascended to His Father, who was His AIL, strength or power (John xx. 17).

ANASTASIS

God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee - Acts 13: 33

...I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. John 20: 17

8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

Seeing that it is the purpose of the Deity to give the nations to Jesus and his Brethren for an inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for their possession (Psa. 2:6-8; Apoc. 2:26) the proclamation, or prophesying again, to kings and nations, in the words,

"Fear the Deity, and give honour to him,"

implies the surrender of all wealth, dominion, honour, and power under the whole heaven to them.

Will the peoples of the American Continent be willing to do this; especially in view of the fact, that no unrighteous man will be permitted to hold the meanest office under their supremacy?

...Is the King of Israel to be interdicted from annexing Canada, Mexico, and the so-called United States to his dominions? Will he regard the screams of the American Eagle, or the roar of the British Lion? Not a whit. What are these powers to him before whom a fire goes, and burns up his enemies whose lightnings enlighten the world! At whose presence the earth trembles, and the hills thereof melt like wax!

Now as to the precise time after Christ's advent, and the justification of his household by Spirit, in which this proclamation through mid-heaven shall be made, it may be remarked, that it is immediately consequent upon the smiting of the Assyro-Gogian image upon the feet by the Stone-Power, and before the grinding of its metallic and clay fragments to powder (Dan. 2:34,35; Matt. 21:44).

It will therefore be in the interval between the Armageddon overthrow of the Sixth Vial, and the outpouring of Divine wrath upon "the Air" of the Seventh. This interval will be the period of this remarkable angel-proclamation.

The Armageddon discomfiture of the belligerents in the land of Israel; that is, of the Lion-power of Sheba, Dedan and Tarshish, and of its antagonist the Assyro-Gogian confederacy of the North, at Bozrah and elsewhere (Ezek. 38:13,18-23; Isa. 63:1; Dan. 11:41-45) - will put Yahweh Tz'vaoth in possession of Jerusalem the Holy City, which he occupies as the Lamb with the 144,000.

Standing thus upon Mount Zion, the Eternal Spirit, in multitudinous manifestation, is

"in His dwelling place without fear, as dry heat impending lightning, as a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest" (Isa. 18:4).

He is "still" as the calm and sultry atmosphere which precedes the tempest; and stands as the up-lifted ensign upon the mountains (Isa. 11:10,12); ready for the manifestation of those terrible judgments in the earth under the outpouring of which

"the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness" (Isa. 26:9).

In this still dry heat of impending vengeance, the Pentecostian proclamation of liberty and return is made; after which "the great trumpet is blown" by Yahweh Tz'vaoth (Isa. 18:3; 27:13; Zech. 9:14); the Jubilee Trumpet of the judgment of the great day. The angel-proclamation in midheaven is this Pentecostian proclamation briefly preceding the Jubilee Trumpet of "the Day of Atonement," when the Eternal Spirit casts up accounts with the nations, and exacts from them the settlement that is due.

The proclamation in midheaven is Pentecostian, not judicial and vengeful. It announces the approach of judgment as impending, not in actual manifestation; and therefore invites return to God as the condition of liberty, or escape from the wrath to come.
