Coming Troubles and the Second Advent

1

As the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

In the days of Noah, things had attained a bad development. There was a complete abandonment of the restraints of divine law among the population, and God saw fit to remove them by a flood, saving "only Noah".

The flood was not an ending of the Lord's law among men, but the assertion of submission to God as the divinely desired rule of life for all men.

The reason of Noah's exemption from the universal destruction was expressed thus:

"Thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation" (Gen. 7:1).

The continued life of himself and family was to be on the basis of submission to God:

"Behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you . . . between me and all flesh that is upon the earth" (9:9,17).

At that time,

"there shall be a time of trouble, SUCH AS NEVER WAS SINCE THERE WAS A NATION EVEN TO THAT SAME TIME" (Dan. 12: 1).

"Upon the earth shall be distress of nations with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming upon the earth" (Luke 21: 25,26).

"Thus saith the Lord of Hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day, from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth" (Jer. 25: 32, 33).

Concerning the Jews

"There is, then, a partial and primary restoration of the Jews before the advent of Christ, which is to serve as the nucleus, or basis, of future operations in the restoration of the rest of the tribes after he has appeared in the kingdom. The pre-adventual colonisation of Palestine will be on purely political principles; and the Jewish colonists will return in unbelief of the Messiahship of Jesus, and of the truth as it is in him. They will emigrate thither as agriculturists and traders, in the hope of ultimately establishing their commonwealth, but more immediately of getting rich in silver and gold by commerce with India, and in cattle and goods by their industry at home under the efficient protection of the British power" (Elpis Israel, pp. 395 / 6-3rd. Edition, printed 1859).

This statement, based upon Bible prophecy, has been remarkably fulfilled. A partial restoration of Jewry has taken place, the nation of Israel has come into existence, and Britain was a prime mover in accomplishing this.

Concerning Britain

"As I have said elsewhere, the Lion-power will not interest itself in behalf of the subjects of God's kingdom, from pure generosity, piety towards God, or love of Israel; but upon the principles which actuate all the governments of the world-upon those, namely, of the lust of dominion, self-preservation, and self- aggrandisement. God, who rules the world, and marks out the bounds of habitation for the nations, will make Britain a gainer by the transaction. He will bring her rulers to see the desirableness of Egypt, Ethiopia, and Seba, which they will be induced, by the force of circumstances, probably, to take possession of. They will, however, before the battle of Armageddon, be compelled to retreat from Egypt and Ethiopia . . ." (p. 398)

Following World War 1 (seventy years after the above statement was written) Britain was granted a mandate over Palestine, and sponsored the establishment there of a national home for the Jews. Since that time, and developing out of that movement, the nation of Israel came into existence. It is all in fulfilment of Bible prophecy, as the above writer clearly showed.

Concerning Russia

In the Preface to the 3rd. Edition of Elpis Israel (p. 21), the author wrote:

"Russia's mission is to reduce all the nations of the Old World, save Britain and her dependencies, into one imperial dominion represented in the book of Daniel by the Image of Nebuchadnezzar. Licentiousness will again break loose, and in the melee the Austro-Papal empire will succumb; the contest will end in the discomfiture of the Continent and Russia, like a mighty inundation, will overflow the nations, and dash her waves upon their shores, from the Danish Belts to the Dardanelles. Britain will rage, and shake the world with her thunder; but, as in the days of Napoleon, her alliance will be fatal to them that trust her, and only precipitate their fall."

Again (p. 13):

"When Russia makes its grand move for the building up of its image-empire, then let the reader know that the end of all things as at present constituted, is at hand. The long expected, but stealthy advent of the King of Israel, will be on the eve of becoming a fact, and salvation will be to those, who not only looked for it, but have trimmed their lamps by believing the gospel of the kingdom unto the obedience of faith, and the perfection thereof in 'fruits meet for repentance.'"

Prince of Rosh - King of the North

"The West's toothless attitude towards Ukraine leaves world on brink of a new Cold War
Had Western forces taken a confident approach, Nato would have dispatched a division to support Ukraine and averted disaster".
"Russia plots 'false flag' attack to provoke war with Ukraine ...Russia is now ready for a full scale invasion"  - Daily Telegraph

At the time of the end - Dan 11: 40

...the Russo-Assyrian autocrat shall attack Constantinople by sea and land, and with such whirlwind impetuosity that the Sultan's dominion shall be swept away.

... The whirlwind-nature of the attack implies, I think, not only its overwhelming character, but that when it is made, the allies [NATO?] of the Sultan will be off their guard; that is, by the Autocrat's assurances of peace and moderation for which they will give him credit, Constantinople will be left unprotected, and it will fall into his hands before they can come to the rescue.

To "push at him,'' and to "come against him," are phrases which imply more than simple invasion; they indicate likewise the direction that invasion is to take. In the case of the king of the south, when he "pushed at him" he directed his course towards Constantinople, but he did not "come against him," because he was stopped by "the powers."

The king of the north, however, is to do more than push, he is actually to "come against" the, Sultan, which can only be done by sitting down before Constantinople.

Current events fulfilling prophecy

The fact that Russia is persevering through a slow war with high losses is highly indicative of several things. First, that Putin does not feel the pressure of the type of ranting, rioting internal dissent experienced in Western countries, where political leaders feel the direct threat to their power. Putin evidently feels himself well past such a threat-demonstrating that he has fully transitioned to the role of Autocrat, and that he feels that the power of his government over the people is absolute.

Secondly, a slow, high-loss war indicates his lust for conquest is not dissuaded by a sense of impatience. He wants what he wants, and will take the time and expend the effort required to obtain it. He's already invested over 8 years in combatting Ukraine. It is evident he'll take the time he needs to finish the acquisition.

Thirdly, it is evident his affinity for history has shown him that victory can be obtained with sufficient willingness to sacrifice his own people for 'the cause.' Treating his soldiers as "cannon fodder" can bring desired results for his personal glory, which is the same as the glory of Russia. This level of ruthlessness has been held in abeyance for some time (e.g. North Korea). When Russia's leader shows this kind of willingness to sacrifice troops for his ambition, we can be certain other leaders of similar character will follow.

Fourthly, Putin feels secure enough that he is ignoring the sanctions, threats and military power of the Western world. He is pushing through the noise, and effectively saying, if you want to stop me, you must go to war with me. He has a nuclear arsenal, certainly, but taking such a position usually indicates there is something more substantial to his ability to wage war than what the common Western media perceives. This may not be so much as his ability to bring terrible weapons to the fore (he has them), as much as it may be he has the means to bring Western countries to their knees by other means, such as through interrupting energy supplies, cyber-warfare, political interference, stirring up internal dissent, sabotage, food shortages, etc.
