PSALM 14

1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.)

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no Elohim. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Newton, a mathematical genius, saw that the universe or Creation was governed by fixed mathematical laws, which proved therefore not chance, as the atheist argued, but conversely Intelligent design and a Lawgiver. His work on the book of Creation is set forth in 'his opus Principia Mathematica'.

To deny law and order in the cosmos goes against exerything Newton calculated including calculus for differentials, laws of mechanics, optics and gravity. This is blasphemy (Pslm.14:1, Job 38.33).

Descartes had speculated that the universe had arisen from matter in motion without a Creator; a theory popular today starting with the supposed "big bang" ie. "a' ball of energy exploding to produce of its own accord the universe with all its galaxies, stars and planetary .systems, atoms, life in all its diversity 'and so on (Darwinism).

This is all the fantasy of the atheist has no basis in sound science and laws and physics, but is "science falsely so called. (1 Tim 6.20) ..

2 Yahweh looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek Elohim.

Many wonder about the countless millions that come and go entirely outside the scope of God's plan, but God has looked them all over. The material that God desires is very rare -- almost non-existent -- true humility that seeks God's will in all things, and has no ideas of its own.

Man's major problem is to get his estimation of himself and his own ideas down to its true level of utter insignificance. Then he will not wonder why God can find no use for so many creatures like him, but he will bend every effort to make himself of some value to God.

3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon Yahweh.

5 There were they in great fear: for Elohim is in the generation of the righteous.

6 Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because Yahweh is his refuge.

7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when Yahweh bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Mankind have not yet learned that the world's redemption from all its evils is from God; nor are they aware, such is the impenetrability of human ignorance, that they have neither virtue, knowledge, power, nor wisdom, enough, to deliver themselves from their miseries, and to re-constitute society to the promotion of their own happiness, and to the glory and honour of the Most High.

There is no man, nor any combination of men, under the heavens, that is competent to the work of social regeneration. If individuals be unable to regenerate themselves, which is unquestionable; no association of persons however multitudinous, can renew the world, and make it what it ought to be.

That it needs regeneration is self- evident to all the "sons of light;" and that it cannot of itself compass that necessity is equally apparent to all, save those who are of the night.
